An informal announcement was made this morning that Warner Bros. will give Catwoman, starring Halle Berry, the Imax DMR treatment for its July release this year. This will come about seven weeks after the release of the third Harry Potter film, which is also getting the DMR treatment. Official press release coming soon.

From James Hyder's "LF Professional":

http://www.lfexaminer.com

quote:
Dear LF Professional:

Imax Corporation co-CEOs Bradley Wechsler and Rich Gelfond announced today that Warner Bros.’ “Catwoman,” starring Halle Berry, will be the second Hollywood film to be released to IMAX theaters in 2004. The film will open on July 23, day-and-date on 35mm and IMAX screens.

Only seven weeks separate the release of “Catwoman” from the June 4 opening of “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban,” the first 2004 film to be processed with Imax’s DMR re-mastering system. It is not yet known whether the Harry Potter film will open in IMAX theaters on the same day as 35mm.

The March issue of LF Examiner will have further details, along with a complete report on the Imax’s financial performance in 2003.

John Pytlak posted over in FHF with full quote of the press release [Smile]

And then Snorwood went ahead and shut it down. [Frown]

I see where our dear Adam posted first (by 10mins) but why lock the thread that contained the article? [Confused]

These mods...honestly! [Roll Eyes]

Poor Manny. We're sorry you disagree with one of the mod's decisions. We like to annoy people named "Manny".

Well I suppose if somebody answered the door in a rubber suit, the kids wouldn't be as disappointed about you not having any candy for them, but only samples of FilmGuard.

I don't see where I come into this though.
