A friend of mine today was reminiscing today about a policy trailer he used to see involving the Muppets(tm). Apparently they were trashing a theater as an example of what not to do while watching a movie. When I mentioned this to my SO, she swears she's seen it too, so it must be true.

I've never seen this one, but it sounds like fun. Does anyone know, was it produced for a specific chain, or is it potentially available for purchase?

Loews had a policy trailer with the Muppets in it. So that is the trailer your probably talking about. I don't think you be able to purchase one, but if you go to a Lowes theater and ask they may have an old one laying around that they may let you have.

That policy trailer is so bad it's damned entertaining.

It is not something that I would want to force my customers to have to watch over and over.

There's another one like that which is older. I believe that it's one of the titles of which Derek Maxwell is selling prints.

Bear in mind that our customers are college students, for the most part. Entertaining bad things are a big part of their daily existance. Heck, we had complaints when one of our cheezy 70s datestrips got munched, because people liked to shout along with it.

So who is this mystic guru, "Derek Maxwell" of which you speak? Pray, how can he be summoned to our cause?

I like the one where projectionist Cookie Monster gives us a brief history of cinema. I've got a quicktime of it on one of theese hundreds of unlabled burnt cd's lying around. Loews used to have them available for download on their website.

Speaking of what...

About 15 years ago, all danish cinemas had a trailer, showing two painters putting up their ladders in front of a screen, painting the screen black, until it reached television size, ending up asking the audience "is this what You want".
Noone today seems to remember, where it came from. -Any of You know anything about this...?
