Yeah, Snood is pretty cool. It's actually essentially the same as a game made by Taito and Neo Geo called Bust a Move. That game is with the characters from Bubble Bobble and is graphically spectacular compared to Snood (obviously, it was an arcade). Still, there are many variations of Busta Move and they were all very very addictive. If you're into Mame, you can get them there or there were some versions on the Playstation I believe.

Yes, I do indeed play snood. As soon as the movie starts, I drum on the snood along with the beat of the dolby logo.

(Okay, you know before you clicked the topic that someone was going to crack this joke) [Big Grin]

I used to play snood. Until it started taking hours per day out of my life, so I destroyed the computer it was on and bought a new one. [Smile]

I got a game called Bubbles on my palm pilot, it's pretty much the exact same game except that instead of little totem pole faces, it's just colored circles.

Interestingly, when you call a certain place with questions relating to the snood, you get this sort of corrective pronunciation of the word back as snood rhyming with "hood" instead of "food". Save a trip to the dictionary; they all say it rhymes with "food".

I believe the "snood" is the metal shroud (usually in the shape of a frustum) that attaches to the front of the lamphouse, between the lamphouse and the projector head, used as a light shield. Personally, I've always just called it a "snoot."

BTW, congratulations Carl on your "Jedi" status! [thumbsup] [beer]

The warning "Close dowser before servicing, snood" were on the front of the snoot of early 70's Christie consoles. I always detested being refered to as a snood, although, in retrospect, the comma may have been a paint drip made during the installation....If only I had know then what I suspect now....

To much surprise, this book from a small publisher on the unsexy subject of commas, colons and dashes is proving the UK publishing success of Christmas 2003. There’s good reason for this: it’s witty, thought-provoking, and brief. Lynne Truss is passionate about punctuation.

quote:
A panda walks into a bar. He orders a sandwich, eats it, then draws a gun and fires two shots in the air.

"Why? Why are you behaving in this strange, un-panda-like fashion?" asks the confused waiter, as the panda walks towards the exit. The panda produces a badly punctuated wildlife manual and tosses it over his shoulder.

"I'm a panda," he says, at the door. "Look it up."

The waiter turns to the relevant entry and, sure enough, finds an explanation.

"Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves."
