Just thought I'd let you all know. I finally have an interview tomorrow for Hollywood Video. For those who have never heard of it, it is like Blockbuster. So if I get this, I'm still in the movie business...sort of. Wish me luck!!!

Also, since this is a job, not a career meaning, 6-7.50/hr, should I shave my goatee?

Any tips on the interview process? I haven't had to do this in a while.

We have some of those stores here. My Advise is to present yourself in a professional manner. Don't go to the interview in your everyday clothes. Don't be negative with comments about your other job. They may take that as being you and they don't want that in their business.

Keep your goatee, jsut make sure it looks clean. If they dont allow facial hair then they will let you know

Just go nude, and talk about your everyday fantasies about underage actresses about to turn legal. But hey, I heard Lindsey Lohan just got married and divorced within the matter of minutes the other day.

Shave off half of your goatee.... the left half. Then shave off the right half of your hair. Tell the asshole that interviews you that you are down and with it, and that's why you look the way you do. Also, get a tattoo. Tattoos are great, they guarantee respect will be given to you, and will look great for the rest of your life. Everyone loves tattoos. Also offer some urine for a drug test. Just whip it out and pee in anything that can collect liquid on his/her desk. Then offer him/her a joint. Like tattoos, usage of marijuana absolutely commands respect. It forces people to take you and your thoughts/opinions seriously. Also be sure to fart a lot. It projects confidence.

If hired, you will help turn Hollywood Video into a major force to be reckoned with, and the world will improve as a result. Good luck!

Have you considered starting a career as a gigolo?

The general rule of job interviews is to dress one 'level' higher than the work uniform you would be wearing when possible. If Hollywood Video employees wear polo shirts like blockbuster then a shirt and tie (no sport coat needed) would probably be appropriate.

I sorta agree with Joe... but LOSE **ALL** the facial hair for the interview.

Most companies like the "clean-cut", nice-boy look for an employee dealing with the public unless of course you're in Detroit or Dallas like Chris. [Razz]

After you get hired, then grow the face-hair and get all the tattoos you want. Preferably, temporary ones on your neck and face.

If they don't like it, have sex with the boss' daughter/son/whatever, or even the boss, and then sue them for sexual harassment.

Then, with all the $$$ from the lawsuit, open your own theatre and live the "GOOD" life!

Welcome to the real world. [beer] [Big Grin]

While I'm at it, why don't I knock over a few racks in the store and punch one of the associates. You know that violence always helps with anything you do.

I heard Phil Hill is the Hollywood link for Hollywood Video...
but I think that Mark has given you the best advice. Set your sights higher there is a company out there looking for you. You may have to re-locate and that can be a good thing. Best of luck.

Joe and I agree on something!! He's right. If you hold your farts in, they will back up into your brain and you will have crappy ideas. [Razz]

Richard, I'd offer you a job at my theater, but I called your previous employer and there was this incident about shitting in a theater that doesn't sit well with me. Our theaters are shitty enough.

Thanks Thomas.....I think..

Well, I got offered a 2nd interview tomorrow. That is a good sign. See what I need is something that can pay the bills right now. I can look for something else later. It kinda sucks though that the pay is only 6.00/hr. Oh well, it's money.

Is $6.00 more than you were making before? Because I can assure you, you will be working late hours for them too. And whats the second interview for? Why cant they just make a decision from the first one?
