Has anyone tried this? I signed up for it today, and as far as I can tell it's legitimate. There's an article at wired.com that describes the service and how the system works. They also talk to a few people who have received their iPod already.

You don't have to give them your credit card number, just your address (so they know where to send the iPod, hopefully). You have to complete an offer from a list of 10. I signed up for the Blockbuster service that's like Netflix. It's a two week free trial, and then you can cancel it, which I plan to do.

The other thing you have to do is refer 5 friends and have them complete an offer. They have to use your referal link, otherwise you won't get credit for it.
That's the tough part I guess, because who wants to complete an offer for someone else's benefit. I don't know if those people get credit towards their own ipod or not.

If anybody wants to complete an offer, email me and I'll send you the referal email...I suppose then we'll know if it's real or not. [Smile]

No, becuase the five people have to complete an offer too. Which leads me to believe that since these major companies (amazon, ebay, blockbuster, etc.) are getting people to at least try one of their services, maybe it is legitimate. Not a pyramid scheme.

That is what a pyramid scheme is. you get people under you to do what you did, and then you get the prize... if they get the same number of people under them.... they get a prize... and if thier people get people.... etc and so on....

legallity or legitamacy is not the question... it may be completely legal and legitimate, but it is still a pyramid.

Because products are offered as the hook, instead of just giving you money... and that you get a prize and not money.. it makes it legal.. and those companies that partake in it makes it legit.. but still a pyramid... legal.. but pyramadic...

ciao
