I’m not having much luck with search engines on this topic.

What were the ancient civilizations that made pyramids?
I know that the Egyptians. Mayans, Incas, Aztecs all did.

Am I missing any?

You might want to check out ziggurats. The Sumerians had them. They had a huge temple at Ur.

Yes, the mound builders at Kahokia in what is now Illinois also constructed pyramids from approximately 800 - 1200 AD. These tended to resemble a mix of Aztec and Mayan influences leading some historians and archaeologists to theorize these people may have been a rouge element from south of the border. The theory goes on to argue that this society possibly migrated to the Mississippi River Valley hoping to carve out their own empire. We're not quit sure what happened to the Kahokia tribes. Possibly they married into more historical peoples such as the Sauk, Chippewa, or even Osage. Another theory is that they were defeated on the field of battle and sold into slavery. We're certain they were gone before French missionaries first entered these areas in the late-1600's.

Tom Robbins wrote still life with woodpecker. It vaguely mentions a few pyramids, and some weird theories about them (for instance, the Mayans predicted there were red headed gods who ordained them to build temples, and the guy who painted the pyramid on the box of camal cigarrettes was a redhead, and so was Thomas Jefferson who designed the 1 dollar bill to have a pyramid on it.) maybe Tom was just stoned, but i think theres some credit to it.
