Usher-"I'd like to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for giving me this talent" By the way, said this for winning best something for his song "Confessions" which is about him having sex with a girl, getting her pregnant and having to go tell his wife/girlfriend

I wouldn't have even seen that clip if it weren't for the lack of anything else to watch last night. How many hours of life did I waste?

I avoided the American Music Awards telecast last night on grounds of principal. With only 5 corporations making the homogenized music and ClearChannel being damned near the sole broadcaster allowing anyone to listen, what is the point of even having music awards shows anymore? There's no innovation. They're just going to keep regurging and repackaging the music style of 1989 for the rest of our lives.

But I did see the Anna Nicole highlights on the news this morning. That was probably the best part of the show.

IMHO, the various anti-drug use organizations should get permission to use that Anna Nicole video in a commercial to combat drug use. Just play that shocking yet hilarious clip and perhaps add: "welcome to the world of what other people see when you are high on drugs. That's right, you're not cool at all. You're a freaking embarrasment! Haw haw."
