I'm talking about THE SHINING. You know, that wacky family rattling around doing madcap antics in a closed hotel? News came to me via screenwriter Mark Evanier's NEWS FROM ME blog, expressed thus: "Jack's Back! - I used to have a friend whose job was to lie for a big movie studio. Actually, there are a lot of people in that field but his fibbing was confined to producing movie trailers. When the studio found itself stuck with a movie it thought wouldn't draw an audience, my friend took over. He would design a marketing campaign that would make it look like a very different movie. He sometimes referred to himself as the Executive In Charge of Misleading Advertising. I thought of him when someone sent me a link to this video. It's...well, you'll figure out what it is. Go take a look." The idea is to tell the crowd EXACTLY what the thread is about without them having to read the thread to determine.
