According to this Death Clock Calculator, I should have been rotting in my grave a year before I 1st signed on to Film-Tech. [uhoh]

...I'm sure MANY agree with that! [Razz]

How much time do YOU have left?

Seconds left to live...

1,059,369,78

I'll be 84!

Awsome, I have plenty of time left to go around insulting folks... yesterday it was a projectionist from Carmike that told me he was one of Carmikes prodigy operators... well he couldn't focus the image worth a darn.... and he wasn't aware that being from that employer counted as an automatic negative 10 points against him...... Oh well...... Its best not to be from that employer......

Yeah, like they will still allow people to drive themselves by then...it will all be automated for our safety. Instead, you will be killed by a vehicle that isn't working properly due to a glitch in the code that will be fixed on the next revision, or two.

14 March 2047. I entered the default BMI (I don't know my weight in pounds, only kilos: I think I'm probably slightly above the ideal BMI, but not by much), 'average' optimism/pessimism rating, that I'm a non-smoker (true), and my birth date of 18 June 1973. By crunching that data, this website thinks I'll live to be 74 - but why it thinks I'll die just over three months short of my 75th birthday I don't know - why not make it a nice round number and call it 18 June 2047?

I read somewhere that the life expectancy for a typical British male is now 76, so maybe that site's a bit pessimistic. However, mean averages are a very blunt instrument. From all the other life expectancy crap I read in the papers, the following factors might also have something to do with it. I'm not married, have a history of heart disease on both sides of my family and drink probably 20-30% more than the recommended weekly alcohol intake for a male, which all reduce life expectancy; but on the other hand I have a low fat diet (mainly the result of my allergy to dairy fat - i.e. I can't eat anything with milk, butter, eggs or cheese in it) and don't (and have never) smoke(d).

So really, you can crunch statistics to produce a 'headline grabbing' one such as is generated by this site. In a way, sites like this are a good way of getting you to think about how statistics are generated and what they really mean. But the optimist in me prefers to hope that, in this case, I'll end up being an exception which proves all those scary rules!
