I had to change the original title of this thread. It didn't make much sense when I woke up. I must have done it in my sleep.

My normal TV show allotment isn't filling the bill. I am going to be undergoing a series of tests to see how badly my back is broken, and how much damage is done to the spinal cord. I am heavily doped up, so normal just doesn't cut it....

So far I have found Grounded for Life and Becker as the only two shows that feel intelligent.... keeping in mind the drugs I am on....

I would like some suggesstions of any kind....

The Shield, Rescue Me and House are guilty pleasures of mine. Curb Your Enthusiasm is fantastic.

Rescue Me and House are "guilty" pleasures? Those are fine programs, as I've happened to become quite familiar with the DVD box sets out already. I'm wondering what the "innocent and proud to admit it" pleasures are. [Wink]

Well, take it for what it's worth but I enjoy:

Curb Your Enthusiasm
Entourage

(both on HBO)

CSI
Family Guy
Law & Order

The Dick Van Dyke Show
I Love Lucy
Mr. Ed
Cheers
Old Scooby Doo Re-runs

Hmmm, TV shows.

My fav's:

House
Family Guy
That 70's Show
Frasier
The 4400
Battlestar Galactica
CSI (Has to be Las Vegas...)
Law & Order

Rescue me is a good show, I love Dennis Leary but for whatever reason I never really got into it.

And of course Becker, one of my all time favorites, but you already found that one. [Smile]

Wow, this makes me look like I watch a lot of TV, which I really don't. There is only one show I go out of my way to watch each week and that is House.

A hearty seconding for Rescue Me!

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia follows Leary's masterwork & the first two episodes showed great promise.

Oh come on... you have got to get into the daytime soaps. i.e. All My Children, One Life to Live, and of course Guiding Light. [Big Grin] [dlp]

Try to catch Big Love if you have HBO. I thought it was gong to suck when I first saw commercials for it but it is actaully pretty good.

Most nearly anything on the Food Channel that involves showing how food, candy, soft drinks, beer are made.

Made in America on Travel Channel. Louis

Other than the aforementioned Curb, that would be Arrested Development, Da Ali G Show, and Scrubs, with a major shout out to the reruns of The Larry Sanders Show

I could never get into Passions... every time I tuned in there was always some really hot sweaty guy half naked. As much as I love the half naked men [sex] ... this show was too weird for me. Creepy witches and "little people" and such.

Geez Dave,

You've been down more than up since I've known you! I would reccomend getting an nice HD set and taking all that in. Alot more on HD to watch than on the regular airwaves... and those regular airwaves will be gone in a couple of years anyway.

Mark
