No skill, no trivia, no knowledge, no wits required. Flip a coin for an hour. Play the slots. This is a spectator sport?

If I could turn off my television any harder, this show would make me do it. If I wanted hot models, I'm sure there are plenty more places to happen upon them. And are clad-for-network-television models really worth it? [Roll Eyes]

If a network can make revenue from a show which costs nothing BUT the prize money (I mean, Howie doesn't even require a hair stylist!), then good for them, I guess. It's not helping my desire to see innovative television return to popularity.

Next thing, they'll come up with another game show turned reality show with ominous music called "Guess What Color I'm Thinking!"

And I used to laugh at how bad some European TV shows were. With all the shit currently on network television these days I'm up for topless weather ladies!

Today's TV (game-)shows really suck. I don't really watch TV anymore.

'The Price is Right' is my favorite game show. I enjoy ridiculing the people who don't know how to play the different games.

That's what makes it fun. If you watch it, there is a lot of suspense, and it's mindless. I like it, though I rarely get to watch network tv. I have played the pointless game on the website, I must confess.

To quote Kid's in the Hall : "Shove this up your mind"

Oh, sure, I see the attempt at drama and suspense; but frankly it's not there. Not for me. And I do not revel in mindlessness. I'm one of those high-and-mighty, intellectual types who read books and shit, and who generally place value on one's mind. [Big Grin] [Razz]

(And anyone who finds anything to the contrary on my website, or my MySpace profile, can bite me!) [Wink] [Cool]

(Now we need to bring back Anne Robinson's "the Weakest Link" for some good snide humour again)

Then there are those 'knockoff' suspense gameshows like "One againt One Hundered" and "Show me the Money" with Shatner as MC...

Howie Mandel has gone to the place where all washed-up, struggling, questionable-at-best talent comedians go: The land of crappy game shows. He now joins Louie Anderson, Bob Sagat, everyone who has ever been on Hollywood Squares, and coutless others. It's kind of sad to know that Mandel actually thinks he is funny.

The best are the old episodes of Match Game on the Game Show Network. The fun now is often trying to figure out who some of the celebrities were, except for Charles Nelson Reilly. And Richard Dawson never looked oilier.

And Gene Rayburn. If he were still alive, he'd be playing the caveman in those Geico commercials. Possibly a missing link, but he had the coolest microphone on tv.

Met Gene Rayburn when a friend and I went to the NBC studios in New York in the late 1960's. He was nice and relaxed after doing a radio show. He remarked about our "Florida tan" since his studio complexion was sunless pink compared to us [Smile]
If Howie Mandle can keep it going he can join Bob Barker, Vanna White, Alex Trebek, Pat Sayjak working 3 - 4 days a month playing games until the next century making $$$$ [Cool]
