Author Topic: Do You Talk To Your House Plants? Phil Hill I love my cootie bug Posts: 7595 From: Hollywood, CA USA Registered: Mar 2000 posted 04-05-2007 06:52 PM                  I've had this one indoor potted houseplant in my kitchen bay window for 11 years and haven't managed to kill it off...yet. I HAVE NO CLUE as to what it is.. it has NO flowers...only leaves which continue to grow new ones as the old ones die and fall off. I'm not a botanist. While I do water it when *I* feel it needs it... i.e., when its leaves start to droop. I fully believe its survival is due to me frequently gently stroking its leaves and lovingly talking to it. When on an extended trip, and when I come home it appears dead, then I revive it as I mention above. Also, if I don't pay it any attention to it for awhile, it kicks its dirt out of its pot...the bitch! HA! When it gets used to the sun's orientation, I rotate it. Then all the leaves move to the new position to soak up the rays of the sun. I do this just to piss it off and give it exercise so it doesn't get fat! HA! I seem to recall watching some show on Discovery or something that said plants DO respond to audio vibrations, by some mechanism.
