A good friend of mine for many years and the person who probably taught me most of what I know about dimmer past away on Friday after a battle with Lung Cancer
Bruce worked at George Kelk Ltd in Toronto and later was the head engineer for Ward Leonard of Canada designing many dimming systems before founding Lumitrol Ltd (which distributed the EDI skrimmer and Colortran dimmers in canada) He was also responsible for many of the design features to the Stan Ash line of dimmers which we distributed to many cinemas and also the line of Ash stage dimming pacs
what follows is the obit
The arts have lost a dear friend with the passing of Bruce Whitehead. Bruce died yesterday after a relatively short battle with cancer. He was the hardworking backbone of Arts Milton for 6 years and his dedication to communications and research was invaluable. Bruce loved the arts in any form and was a member of many of our groups as well as a financial knight in shining armour. His quiet encouragement for emerging organizations and his reliable production of past Arts Milton columns and newsletters fostered the growth of the arts in North Halton.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday December 22nd at J. Scott Early Funeral Home, 21 James Street, Milton. Visitation will take place from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

The memorial service will begin at 3:00 pm with Father Mark Curtis officiating. A reception will follow immediately after the chapel service. www.earlyfuneralhome.com.

We offer our heartfelt condolences to Barbara and Bruce's family at what should be a festive time. They shared their lives with a kind gentle man whose gifts of giving were many and will not be forgotten.
