Author Topic: RIP Carroll McGee Bruce McGee Phenomenal Film Handler Posts: 1776 From: Asheville, NC USA... Nowhere in Particular. Registered: Aug 1999 posted 12-26-2007 12:38 PM                     I've been away from the internet for awhile. My dad got really sick about a month ago, and finally, peacefully, died on 12/24/07. He was a great dad who indulged me with the weird hobby of film handling, and equipment purchases. Had it not been for his understanding, I would not be in this industry today. My mother is taking this well. The immediate family is gathering. The memorial services are on Friday. Also, BTW, Happy Birthday to me on 12/26. 51 years ancient. I'm not at home right now, so there is limited access to F-T and the 'net. I can relate to your current emotions, having lost my Dad 1 1/2 years ago at age 84, and after many years of serious illneses. The one word that jumps out...you said he died peacefully. I know that will bring some comfort to you and your family. That doesn't happen as much as it should nowadays with modern medicine.
