What is Dorthy's last name in the Wizard Of Oz? The character, not the actress.

What is Professor Marvel's horse's name in the Wizard Of Oz?

What words are on the wizards balloon in the Wizard Of Oz?

In what film did both Orson Wells and Woody Allen appear? Not a compilation, but an actual film.

Which Disney castle is depicted at the beginning of Disney's current films?

Why are movies often referred to as "flicks?"

And another Oz one: Who was the first actor slated to play the Tin Man in The Wizard of Oz?

How many films did John Ford shoot in Monument Valley?
Why did Buddy Ebsen get sick and leave the cast of a film in 1938 due to an allergic reaction to aluminum poweder?
How many horses were killed in the film "They Shoot Horses Don't They"?

How many wives did Dustin Hoffman portraying Jack Crabb in the film "Little Big Man"?

Last answer is five. Hoffman's first wife Olga, then the native american "Sunshine", plus had to service her three sisters. That makes five! What a life.... (this doesn't count Mrs. Pendrake).

[Smile]

2) Why are streets watered down for night filming?

3) In what year was the MPAA rating system introduced?

4) What movie won the most Academy Awards without winning Best Picture?

I'll try to answer Mike Coate's questions:

1) Because they used to play after the feature.

2) I think it is so that the surface of the street is actually visible.

3) I'm thinking late 60's, early 70's.

4) Big Momma's House

A couple of easy ones:

Who was originally cast in the role of Dirty Harry?

Who was originally cast in the role of Indiana Jones?

2. Tom Selleck! But he wanted to do Magnum PI instead.

Do I win anything if I say "Casino Royale?" [Wink]

How about: Who is the first person to be seen as James Bond on the big screen?

Only the respect of your fellow film buffs.

Who is the first person to be seen as James Bond on the big screen

A trickier question would be, Who was the first actor to play James Bond? Of course the answer is Barry Nelson, who played James Bond in the 1950's CBS tv production of Casino Royale.

You got that right Mitchell, but my own question is plenty tricky. Can you guess?

I appreciate your reasonable answer Tim, but it really is a trick question:

While it could easily be guessed (correctly) that Sean Connery was the first actor to play James Bond in "Dr. No," the first person to actually appear onscreen as Bond was stuntman and stunt coordinator Bob Simmons, who appears as Bond in the opening gunbarrel logo for the first three Bond films. Connery didn't appear in the opening sequence until "Thunderball."
