I saw this outside Discount Drug Mart a while back. What was this used for?

I'd guess it was used to carry popcorn and soda into the auditorium to hawk them.

GCC was one of the largest Pepsi bottlers.

I didn't know they were in the bottling business. This was next to a bunch of Pepsi liter bottle holders, but they kept leaving it behind when they'd take their holders. It's gone, now, so someone took it...

General Cinema did own some Pepsi Bottling facilities in the northeast. In the 80s, when Columbia Pictures was contemplating purchasing General Cinema, the main snag was that Columbia was a "unit of the Coca Cola Company", and thus a unit of Coke was perhaps fixing to buy some Pepsi Bottling plants...of course, it all fell through.

I have an old wooden crate at home with General Cinemas stamped in the side of it. My dad found it with some stuff he had and gave it to me for my screening room. It looks pretty ragged though with oil stains all over it and wood chunks out of it. I took some photos so I'll post one when I get home.

If I saw that discarded behind a drug store it would be mine.

Off topic: Anyone remember when 2-liters had the little black sleve under them? What ever happened to those? 2-liter atriums are much harder to make now.
