So I saw a trailer for the movie Midnight Meat Train, which bills itself a horror/thriller. It was in a full auditorium for The Bank Job, and most people seemed to be taking in the trailer without incident. However, when the name Midnight Meat Train was spoken by that guy that does all of the horror movie trailers, the entire house busted out in laughter. One person even made some lewd comment about having a midnight meat train for someone.

Is this the worst title ever?

It's at least the foregone winner of worst movie title of 2008.

Midnight Meat Train sounds like it could be a title of a Jeff Stryker movie.

I had the same reaction when I saw a TV trailer of this dog a few weeks ago. The title made me think it just HAD to be a comedy.

I'd have to consider "Three on a Meathook." Louis

"Pootie Tang". I think that was the name of the film several years ago...

Quantum of Solace

Sounds like a place where Superman would go when if he wanted to think about something. [Big Grin]

Let me also throw out for consideration Blood and Chocolate. That p.o.s. got a similar response last year.

When you have blood in your chocolate it might be a sign you have colon-rectal cancer.

That's a pretty damn bad name.

Though I remember when an old coworker was building up a set of trailers and immediately came up to be laughing and handed me the one titled "Skinwalkers." Just an awful name.

Here's a trailer story with a laugh. The very first trailer I ever spliced into a show was a brand new print and still had the (protection) leaders intact. Having never seen a new trailer before, or a lab ID sticker, I commented to my mentor that the trailer looked very long to run only a minute. The label read:

Gone in 60 Seconds

This was 1975.

My $.02: "Love in the Time of Cholera"

Why not "Romance in the Time of the Black Death"
"Affection in the Time of Measles"
"Amour in the Time of Chicken Pox"
"Sex in the Time of Cit-- No no no
