Hey guys,
After some time off, I'm back. [Smile] I'll be in Texas this next week. I need some tech info....

I'm doing a P.M. and some upgrades.

DTS 6AD's and CP650's
How is the interface with them, and any tips? I have only racked and wired these units, and not set them up in the field.

Projectors are Strong packages...I think I remember how they work [Big Grin]

Tomorrow I am picking up a USB to RS232 adapter. Do I need this for the processors? I'm getting it for a ScopeMeter.

I don't have any software installed on my laptop, are there any versions of Dolby or DTS that anyone suggests?

Thanks, Rick

On a side note... Anyone ever use a Fluke ScopeMeter? I am working on getting the software. I have it on floppy, but my computer doesn't have a drive to install it.

Welcome back to the STATES as well.

Goto a computer store and find a USB external floppy drive unit to work with floppies for your laptop/desktop units. They do come in handy once in a while.

What theater/chain are you servicing? It sounds like either Angelika Film Center Dallas or Rave Theaters.

Hey Brad,

It's Angelika in Plano and Dallas. I need to call Ethan today and make the arrangements, but I plan on being there tomorrow or Sunday. It's about a 700 mile drive. I'm guessing I will be there all week, 14 screens.

Do you know of any decent hotels around these theaters? I figured between $70-100 a night. I was planning on just finding one close when I get there.

So did you get put in jail over the child support thing? I'm sure you will find a good USB to Serial port adaptor in China. Just don't try one of them on a JSD-80.. they don't like Chinese adaptors!

P.S. Scope meters won't work for many of the waveforms you need to view... This has been brought up in the past... Do a search on that here at F-T.

Mark

Mark, I'll bump up the divorce thread.

On the scope..I didn't do a search, I don't remember any threads about them. Have you used any? This is a Fluke 105B. We had it in the shop at Mega, but I never used it.

It's actually only 13 screens. You're in for a treat because those booths are magnificently designed, and by magnificently designed I mean it couldn't have been done much worse.

Give me a shout when you're in town though.
