I'm not asking for anyone to post what they are making, I'm just curious about the current rates that techs or companies are charging and the availability of said services. I have to take a "Vocational Evaluation" next week because my ex and her attorneys don't think I earn enough. I have a couple court dates next month and want to be prepared.

Thanks for any input, Rick

Some will say it "Depends on your area" but I completely disagree. Most techs undercharge for their worth. We are a rare breed indeed! Now take the Xerox repair man for example. He charges about 150.00 an hour... he doesn't always have the parts with him to fix your Xerox machine... and has to make a return trip in a day or two with the needed parts. The Xerox man is not unlike a cinema service tech is... we can't always have every part or tool with us and sometimes go through similar instances. So why don't any of us charge as much as the Xerox man does? It costs exactly the same amount of money for us to show up at a given location as it does he... We actually have alot more experience in a broader number of fields than he does... light, optics, mechanics, sound, acoustics etc. No Xerox repair man has our experience or knowledge all he knows is his Xerox machines! We should be charging MORE then he does!

FWIW... Iwerks was charging 750.00 a day plus travel and expenses both ways to do large format service.
