Born on July 9 1919.

Passed away on May 26 2008.

He composed music for MANY filmed TV shows, including THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW, where he whistled the theme.

Quite a character, I SPY was among, if not his best, works for TV. Author of 3 books: Scoring for film , Advanced techniques for film scoring , The only ones addressing the mechanics of film scoring at the time of first publishing and his memoirs: Memoirs of a Famous Composer-Nobody Ever Heard of.
