Gen. Hammond from SG-1, as well as other shows and movies like Twin Peaks died recently, from a major heart attack. Have seen him at a few conventions and he's a real genuine person. In fact, me and a friend send his wife condolence letters, and she replied the same day thanking us, and even remembered who we were from Dragon-con. She said that our words at the con meant alot to both him and her.

Ya know, most actors can be emotional when they get an Ocsar or an Emmy, but you can tell it's rehearsed. At Dragon-con, when SG-1 officially was declared ended, the group running that track set up a banner for everyone to that visited to sign. At one of the panels in the big hall, they presented it to him. He was in tears. He was so moved by something so simple, more than most do over a gold statuette at a televised ceremony. That speaks to me the caliber of his person. He truly did appreciate those that appreciated him and his work.

I'll try and find the article about his death and post it here when I get more time. I forgot to bookmark it. Or anyone else, feel free.

RIP Major Briggs! [Frown] I'm a psycho Twin Peaks fan. I also remember him in Best In Show. Never got to watch any of the Stargate shows, but I'm sure he was good in it.

"Have you ever heard of the white lodge...?"

Never knew the guy from his work but oddly I was watching the episode of Xfiles where he plays Scully's father the other day.
