Just got the new IME ShowTime guide. It has this 'predicted' top ten list for December movies.

1. Bedtime Stories
2. The Day the Earth Stood Still
3. Yes Man
4. Marley and Me
5. Seven Pounds
6. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
7. The Tale of Despereaux
8. Valkyrie
9. Revolutionary Road
10. The Spirit

What do you all think of these rankings? I expect #1 and #4 might be reversed, quite frankly, but could be wrong...'Bedtime Stories' IS a Disney film after all.

I could agree with most. I'm surprised at their lack of confidence in 7 Pounds. Will Smith is as they say: "Box Office Magic"

Bedtime Stories looks pretty funny.

I haven't even heard of #'s 1, 7 and 9.

EDIT: Just watched the trailers for the ones I haven't heard of. Bedtime Stories would have to do a ton of business in 6 days to be #1 for the whole month. Looks OK at the very best, but not one that I want to see. Adam Sandler + kids = bad movie. A Tale of Desparado looks stupid. I have yet to see a non-Pixar CG movie that I actually enjoy. Yes, Shrek included. I couldn't even finish watching the trailer. Revolutionary Road looks like absolutely nothing at all. Just a bunch of clips of people doing nothing. Looks like people run around a bit, maybe. Yawn.

The predictions are for the final gross of the movies, not how much they'll do in December only. I should have titled the thread "...December RELEASES." I guess I'll change it now.

I don't know how any of those movies will do. All I can offer is the films on that list I'm interested at all in seeing. Those include:

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
Valkyrie
The Spirit
The Day the Earth Stood Still

I may end up seeing one or more of those movies on Blu-ray if I can't manage to make the time to get out to the theater.
