The Honolulu Advertiser published an Associated Press article this morning written by Ellen Sullivan titled PASSPORT OFFICES FAIL FAKE ID TESTS that made me very angry. I just cannot understand the reasoning for the media to blab about the current flaws of our passport system . I feel all of the information that was covered in the news article was something the public did need to know because it told our enemies that our passport system was tested and failed each time! The article mentioned how a passports was issued to man who died in 1965 and to a five year old boy by the use of phony identification and the dead man's Social Security number. The government should have been discrete regarding flaws in the passport issuance system and quietly made the necessary corrections. There are things we need to know from the government on how they intend to address the economic situation, the two wars and other matters but how our government screwed up issuing passports was something I did not need to know.

The people who want to defeat our system already were aware of its flaws.

It is the DUTY of the press to inform the public of the screw ups of the bumbling idiots who run the government. If they didn't, issues such as that would be swept under the rug and denied. The enemies probably made the discovery long before the govt. officials.
