Maurice Jarre Oscar winning composer of Lawrence of Arabia and Doctor Zhivago has died in Los Angeles at age 84.

My partner and I just watched Lawrence of Arabia last week and we were talking about him and his incredible score. We're fans of both his work and his son Jean-Michel's. This is certainly sad news.

Yes, sad..wonderful composer he was.

His son Jean, released some great albums in the late 70's to early 80's through Polydor ... "Oxygene" "Equinoxe" "Rendez-Vous"..to add a few...

Sad news, he also composed the marvellous electronic score for Witness, with its famous "Building the Barn" theme.

In addition to his most iconic work, I was thinking about "Witness" as well. That and The ZAZ movie "Top Secret!"
