Post about your latest acquisitions. It's a material world, so the more stuff you have, the better human being you are. This is for everything you buy, cheap to expensive.

I'll start:

Two brand new 6-foot HDMI cables for 1 cent each from Amazon

 -

To Hell with Monster and their $100 4-foot cables!

Korean for Non-Native Speakers book and workbook (wrapped together, so it was a single purchase). It's for my class which starts tomorrow. I can't add a picture because I'm at work, but if you want I can upload one when I get home. [Smile] I have to go back to school to defer my student loans ... so, I decided to take Korean.

Today:

- one tank of gas (I didn't actually purchase the tank--just the gas) (87 octane unleaded)
- two books of stamps ($.44 first class)
- picked up five shirts from the laundry (light starch, on hangers)

Over the weekend:

- one haircut (trim)
- paid phone bill (Verizon)
- paid parking ticket (expired meter)

My life is boring like that.

I guess a six pack of imported Mexican beer wouldn't really qualify as a material thing. Bohemia is still pretty good stuff.

Some of my recent "material" purchases:
a Mini HDMI to HDMI adapter: $9 at Radio Shack
Casino on Blu-ray: $12.99 at Best Buy
B+W 77mm MRC Circular Polarizer filter: $156 at B&H Photo
Canon EOS 5D Mark II D-SLR body: $2699 at B&H Photo
Canon Speedlight 530EX II: $370 at Amazon ($50 rebate)
AND
The Perfect Push Up (Basic Edition): $20 at Wal-Mart.

I'm kind of curious to see any recent MP3 player purchases in this thread. My level of hatred is growing for the 2GB RCA Lyra player my parents gave me as a birthday present a couple of years ago. It's just been buggy as hell lately. I want a good player that is NOT an Apple product. Can't stand that iTunes crap and all its restrictions. Not looking to hijack this thread with MP3 player arguments; just want to see what others have purchased recently.

OK, I definitely can't figure out why it keeps saying login failed when I try to upload a picture, but whatever. I bought a

Ruger Hawkeye Sporter in .308. So I was a sucker for the free Carhartt jacket promotion. It wasn't very expensive.

The last material non-food stuff I purchased (Friday) was "The Reader" on Blu-Ray at Target. Total impulse buy. It exceeded my expectations.

I also picked up the last Harry Potter book and am breaking my "books/movies" rule because, after watching the current movie four times, I couldn't wait for the last two damn movies.

I've almost finished said book and am now considering picking up book 6. Which probably means I'll read the whole series backwards.

Two 4GB USB flash drives @ $12/ea. Two gallons of concrete sealer @ $20/ea. Grande Starbucks iced coffee, unsweetened, extra ice, $2.20 less 10% SB Gold Card discount.

Pondering getting Wireless-N for home because I need to move my PC from the spare bedroom to a different location but there's no wiring in the new spot for the Comcast cable connection, and no wired LAN connection, and I really don't want to string both coax and Cat-6 and punch more holes in the floor.
