There is a major story in the news at the moment about the murder of three prostitutes in Bradford.

BBC news page.

While I was there last year I was approached several times by a local beggar, drug addict, drug dealer, prostitute etc who asked for money. She always seemed to appear if I went to a cash machine late in the evenings. She was very difficult to get away from, and sometimes when I thought I'd managed to lose her she would re-appear again from a side street. Looking at the pictures on the news page I think one of the victims may have been this woman. I can't be sure, If it is her then I think the picture must be several years old, but she did look similar.

A sad story; not a pleasant way to live, or to die.

Haven't had a good serial killer in awhile. That weak sauce John Muhammad and Lee Malvo brought over here a few years ago was an embarassment to serial killers, lacking intimacy and design. There is a group, mostly made up of retired law enforcement, that believe in the Smiley Face killers, but nothing official has been linked. I'll bet the profilers over there are going nuts.

What have people got against prostitutes? Go out and find terrorists to kill. Or BP executives.

Serial killers are more interested in killing people they think others won't miss. Prostitutes, junkies and other "dregs of society" are often disowned by their families and lack a support system of friends. They're often out and about at night instead of broad daylight and not in the best neighborhoods or locations. That makes them easy targets for serial killers. When one of them turns up missing not many people ask questions. Law enforcement gets involved when a body is discovered, but that may take place days, months or even years after the murder was committed.

Any serial killer is an embarrassment to humanity. It doesn't make any difference to me to how elaborate a killer's crime might have been, he's still a piece of shit as far as I'm concerned.

Those two assholes kept my community in a state of constant fear. Thankfully one has met his maker and the other will never again taste freedom.
