'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the theater, Not a reel was spinning, not even a trailer. The film cans were lined up by the projector with care, In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there. With friends all snug in their homes and nestled bed, VistaVisions of Technicolor danced in their heads. When over by the projector there arose such a clatter, I sprang from my chair to see what's the matter. And what to my wondering eyes should appear, But a miniature delivery truck pulled by eight tiny reindeer. With a little old driver, so lively and quick, I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick. Up to the projection room the miniature reindeer flew, With the truck full of trailers, features, and St. Nicholas too. As I stopped in surprise and was turning around, Out popped St. Nicholas with a leap and a bound. He had a broad face and a little round belly, That shook when he laughed like a bowlful of jelly. He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his feet, with a bundle of reels, which was especially neat. Filling all of the shippers and cans with great care, He knew that happy film goers would soon be here. Then laying his finger to his lips, and giving a nod, He chuckled "no talking during the feature" and shook his bod. Back to his truck he sprang like a missile, And away they all flew like a CGI effect of a missile. But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight, "Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good-night." © 2007 Mitchell Dvoskin with apologies to the original. Yes, I know, I still have too much time on my hands, but hoping that everyone has a very Merry Christmas and that 2011 is full of health, success, happiness, and that your lives are splice and scratch free. To to those who it applies, may all your pixels glow brightly!
