Bernard Calder, chief projectionist at Edinburgh's well known and loved Dominion Cinema passed away around noon today.

Bernie had been fighting prostate cancer for some time. His health had taken a downturn in recent weeks and on the 30th December he was admitted to hospital where it was discovered that the cancer had spread. He dies just a few days later. He was in his early 60's and looking forward to his retirement from the Dominion where he had worked since leaving school.
