The movie exhibition industry lost another great one yesterday.

Bill Hewitt passed away at the age of 75. He is probably best known for his work at the Senator Theatre in Baltimore, MD.

His desire and love of the motion picture was unmatched and bring that enthusiasm to as many folks as possible was his mission. Anyone that had seen a movie in the Senator theatre for the past 30 years or so has seen the results of his work.

Bill was also an avid film collector and as most film collectors are...a bit of a film historian.

Bill will be missed everyone that knew him (and probably by those that didn't realize that he helped make their movie going experience that much better).

Steve,

I had the honor of meeting Bill. I believe it was at the Rotunda when we were installing a 16mm projector. Very professional & a very wise man. He will be missed.
