Author Topic: Our Longest Standing Patron Passed this Week Week Bill Enos Film God Posts: 2081 From: Richmond, Virginia, USA Registered: Apr 2000 posted 05-05-2013 12:05 AM                     The Byrd Theatre's oldest continuous patron died this past Wednesday night. Bootsie Donati had been coming to the Byrd almost weekly since his parents brought him opening week in December 1928 at the age of 6. Bootsie said the only time he missed coming was during WWII where he participated in the Battle of the Bulge as an infantryman. In later years he suffered from peripheral nerve damage in his feet and hands as a result of exposure to the extreme cold. The worst is when they just stop coming and you wonder if they passed or just moved on to something else. We had a very loyal patron pass once, and their remaining season tickets were never used.
