Does anybody know what this machine is? I don't recognise either the projector or the lamp.

I saw that too. It's either a Simplex Acme or SP.

Its a Simplex ACME type A with low intensity Strong 'Baby' arc lamp. The magazines are early ACME portable 2000ft. It is pre WW2 They were available with 1500w incandescent, Baby arc 25A, or high intensity with Strong Utility lamp.
