Got an E-mail from Carmike Cinemas for 2 free tickets(using your Carmike Rewards Card) to see "JOHN WICK"(Keanu Reeves) on October 15th. They weren't supposed to start giving the tickets away until tomorrow on a 1st come 1st serve basis but I know a few people over there(Shiloh 14) and went over this Morning and got 2 with my Card. Does Carmike do this very often to promote a Movie;I've never seen this before;but I only recently got one of these Rewards Card. From the Previews when I watched "A Walk through the Tombstones" last week; it looks to be a decent Movie [Confused]

Cineplex in Canada has a very successful program where you buy 10 movies and you get one of them free. They make it sound like points but in reality it is buy 10 get one free. For every ticket you buy, you get a 100 points, and once you get a 1000 points you get your free ticket. The good thing is that you guy a cheap ticket and still collect the 100 points and then when the time comes you can redeem all the points for the $25 VIP admission or AVX (sometimes with the distraction of Atmos if that is your thing)

And how is Atmos a distraction exactly??

I'm an AMC Stubs member, and they have two kinds of free screenings that they provide to members only;

Prescreenings- To elicit word-of-mouth, the studios will host, through AMC, ~2 week prescreenings of movies they want to promote. I've attended a half dozen of these, the latest being the Fluffy movie. I also attended one of these at the closest Cinemark.

Free tickets- AMC itself will sometimes pick a movie seemingly at random that has just opened or is already out and give free tickets to members for a given weekend. They sent me an e-mail with a coupon about one of these a while back for 4 free tickets to "Begin Again", but I couldn't make it in the 4 days it was valid for. The movie had already been at that theater for at least a week.
