"Hugo Cabret" Changes Studio, Dates
Source: darkhorizons.com
quote: In an official press release over the weekend, it has been revealed that Martin Scorsese's 3D adaptation of Brian Selznick's bestselling novel "The Invention of Hugo Cabret" has changed its title, its release date, and more surprisingly - its studio.
Sony Pictures was originally scheduled to release the film on December 9th. Now, Paramount Pictures has taken up the job of distributing the film which is simply called "Hugo Cabret" and will hit theaters on November 23rd - in time for the Thanksgiving weekend holiday.
Asa Butterfield, Chloe Moretz, Sacha Baron Cohen, Ben Kingsley, Jude Law and Emily Mortimer all star in the adventure and fantasy film which Paramount will also handle worldwide distribution for except in key certain key markets like the UK, France, Italy, Switzerland, Turkey and the Middle East.
Scorsese's first foray into the family film genre will now face stiff competition from at least four other wide releases that weekend including two aimed at the same demographic - "The Muppets" movie, and Sony Animation's own "Arthur Christmas".
