'The Dark Knight Rises' Adds Matthew Modine and Tom Conti to Cast
Source: firstshowing.net
quote: Well, earlier today The Dark Knight Rises opened up their viral gates with the launching of the official website for the film, and the first official look at Tom Hardy as Bane (seriously, he just looks so hardcore). Now the excitement has died down a bit, but two more actors have apparently joined the cast, even as production is already underway across the world. Variety says Matthew Modine (Full Metal Jacket, "Weeds") and Tom Conti (Derailed, Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence) have both joined the cast in unknown roles. They're certainly strange additions to an impressive cast, but I doubt their roles will be major in the scheme of things.
The roles for these actors may be akin to something like Anthony Michael Hall's role in The Dark Knight, or Rutger Hauer in Batman Begins. Their characters will likely help move the story along but they won't appear in more than a few scenes (though it's funny that Modine's character in Full Metal Jacket was named Joker). In addition these two name actors will also be joined by child actor Joey King (Battle Los Angeles) in an unspecified role as well.
Of course, if you're going to get a small role in a film, it might as well be one of the most anticipated films of 2012. And when you have the chance to share the screen with the likes of Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Marion Cotillard, Tom Hardy and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, you take the role, even if you're playing a mailbox. Stay tuned as more news on The Dark Knight Rises becomes available.
