Hey Monte Fullmer,

Isn't this the theater you work at?

I look forward to the lawsuit:>
We were concerned about something like that when we got our license. Fortunately, there's and exemption in our rules for "art." And being an "art house" puts us pretty safely in the clear.

That just shows how idiotic they are, to waste taxpayer money sending undercover cops to watch a movie and see if they will be served. Like they don't have something better to do. Whoever made that decision should be fired.

This kind of thing make my head explode. I won't get into any kind of a political/religious rant, other than to say I think the law and the attempted enforcement here are just the most absurd examples of government overreach.

Also, their choice of movie is somewhat telling. I wonder if they'd have tried a sting operation like this during a screening of Anomalisa or Carol?

I wonder if the theatre ever showed "Nymphomaniac"(Part 1 and or 2)?

Wackiness always ensues when a cult religion makes the laws in your State. Same thing here. It's certainly good for a few laughs though.

Yes Monte works there but probably shouldn't comment. It is the Village Cinema in Meridian Idaho. Here's a link to a better article with the actual lawsuit attached, a view from the other side! Good luck Dave!

Local scuttlebutt suggests that the anonymous complaints originated by competing theatres that do not sell alcoholic beverages, there are several independents, and Regal/Edwards houses in the valley that this theatre has presented stiff competition to! Plus there is a long established three screener in Boise that has been serving alcohol for decades with little or no problems regardless of what they screen!

[Roll Eyes] All I can say. Cult religions have nothing to do with this State Law.
