Cineplex laying off full-time employees amid ‘small restructuring’ quote: Cineplex Inc. is laying off “a number of” full-time workers. The Toronto-based company’s spokesperson Sarah Van Lange is refusing to say exactly how many jobs are being cut, but says the layoffs will impact less than 100 employees. Lange says the cuts are part of a “small restructuring” happening at the entertainment giant. She says the changes were prompted by a need to eliminate duplicate roles following several business acquisitions and a plan to roll out a diversification strategy. If they are knocking around to save 25 million that means that they are at the end of the rope with over arch. This has happened before to CP - the late 80's and late 90's early 2K. Except this time they are much too big to not collapse. The Canadian federal government is entirely responsible for allowing CP to acquire 90% of the exhibitor market.
