Stan Lee, former editor-in-chief of Marvel Comics and the creator of beloved characters including Spider-Man, Iron Man, X-Men, and more, has died, ABC News has confirmed.

An attorney for the Lee family, Kirk E. Schenck, said that Lee “did pass away this morning in Los Angeles.”

Lee was 95 years old.

“Stan Lee was as extraordinary as the characters he created. A super hero in his own right to Marvel fans around the world, Stan had the power to inspire, to entertain, and to connect," said Bob Iger, chairman and CEO of The Walt Disney Company. "The scale of his imagination was only exceeded by the size of his heart."

Lee was an innovator and his work with Marvel Comics was groundbreaking, no more so than as in recent years with movies dominating the box offices involving his most prized characters such as Spider-Man, The Avengers and X-Men.

Allegedly he was recording cameos in advance for upcoming Marvel Movies. But they have to run out at sometime.
So, who will be the first director to sneak in a shot of Lee's gravestone as the cameo?

Maybe a bad guy will be taking a leak on the grave, and Deadpool will blow his head off in spectacular fashion. Egads, I should be a screenwriter.

But seriously...I hope they continue to have him in the movies. He could be a picture on the wall, maybe a name on a building, just something to find.

With today's CGI capabilities, you could continue creating cameos featuring him, even if they didn't already pre-produce some of them for upcoming releases.

But, I think honoring him by putting pictures and his name into the upcoming franchises would be more respectful, than to create fake cameos he didn't really partake in.

We know that he was pretty instrumental in creating the first Marvel TV and movie properties, but I was wondering how much of his creative input still made it into the Marvel releases of the last decade and how this could potentially influence the future releases.
