Going in the opposite direction from the 8-perf splicing tape thread...
Who makes (or made) two-perforation splicers? Does it use narrow tape, or perforated 35mm splicing tape (like a Rivas). Was it used for editing?
No, I don't want one. The reason I ask is because in June 2002, I ran several reels of clips for a seminar on obtaining the best DV-to-35mm transfers. Almost all of the clips were spliced using a two-perf splicer; most of the splices were starting to separate from the stress of projection and had to be remade before the show. Since the clips arrived around 7:00 in the morning for a 9 AM presentation (not the day before, as I had requested), I could only re-do splices showing signs of separation, not every splice as I would have wanted to do. Fortunately, everything ran fine (using a single-projector reel-to-reel setup with a Simplex E-7 in a local museum), but I almost wanted to strangle whomever made up the clip reels with two-perf splices.
