There seems to be a website http://www.passiontickets.com that had been selling $10.00 vouchers which customers are then suppose to use to redeem their tickets as the Box Office. Our corporate office has warned us off as far as us not accepting these. Does anyone know anything about this whether or not it is a scam or a legitimate program (similar to movie cash)? Either way I thought I would warn you guys about it in case you have a customer(s) show up with these things.

None of the links on that site do anything. I smell a scam.

Yeah. The link to the credit-card form works fine though!

If this was real, why wouldn't it just be a sub-site of the real site, which is www.passionofthechrist.com ?

Better start making a sign for the lobby, I guess. [Roll Eyes]

That's funny. EVery one of the links worked for me. It even located theatres in my original home town as well as my wife home town in NJ.

Looks authentic to me. Chains must participate in the voucher program. It lists one w/in 13.4 miles of my zip, which must be the local Regal.

Anyone from Regal know if you're accepting these vouchers?

That domain name was registered by Prelude Worldwide Ministries, http://www.preludeworldwide.com

Interesting that they don't list any theaters booked in Eugene that are accepting these vouchers (Regal Cinema World 8 in Eugene is selling advance tickets). And the one that is listed for neighboring Springfield is Movies 12, a $1.50 subrun.

Cinemark will not be accepting these vouchers from any web site other than tickets bought through the Cinemark web site or Fandango or through the Group Sales Department. These vouchers are being done without Cinemarks permission.

Hmm... All the links do work under IE but are dead with Netscape.

Also odd: They only list two of our six locations that will be showing the film...

If you go to K-Love Radio you can order tickets from this page.

It looks very similar to the sight mentioned above.

Could these vouchers be similar to ROE passes that the studios put out sometimes?

According to the Web site, they moved the theater I work at to another state!

START DATE: FINISH DATE:
02-25-2004 TBA
STATE: CITY:
Rhode Island , North Attleboro
THEATRE NAME:
Tri-Boro

Last time I checked I worked in Massachusetts, but Rhode Island is better for me..closer to my house.. Now to notify the IRS about all those out of state resident taxes I paid for the last 11 years!

Today, I went to the website mentioned in the first post on this topic. Here's what came up:

Thank you for supporting Mel Gibson's "The Passion of The Christ".
Advance tickets are no longer available.
Please check with your local theater to obtain tickets.

Interesting...scram stopped or to close to the release date to trust the post office, if it was legit????
