Selling a pair of ORC 1600's & rectifiers. These are the kind with the round mil-spec connector that makes all connections from rectifiers to lamphouses.
After years of storage I pulled them out and was able fire up one set but was not able to get the other to light. There is nothing fancy and should be fixable without much trouble.
These are supposed to be adjustable and regulated on the DC side. They divide the current among a bunch of transistors. This has not worked in decades. I suspect that the transistors are all blown. That has not stopped them from working on a non adjustable basis.
The input transformer accepts 120, 208, and 230 volts.
They differ a little in that one lamphouse has plastic latches to hold the top cover. I stole the upper exhaust off one for another project. Note you will need some sort of extraction fan to use not just the internal blower. Speaking of air, the safety vane switch in one has been bypassed.
This is perfect for someone setting 35 or even 70 in their basement.
Because these relamp from the front they used a system of two mounting plates. One is attached to the bottom of the lamphouse, one is attached to the projector base. The lamphouse and upper plate sit on a pin by which they can rotate so you can pull the front and get to the bulb. As of this posting I have one pair of plates but only the second upper plate.
Bulbs not included.
Buyer assumes all risk. The cables look like the DC lines might be asbestos covered. They have been encapsulated in plastic tape so should be okay but I would maybe give them a second wrap of tape.
Pick up in suburban Chicago.
Will consider offers.
The price is for the pair.
No extra charge for bragging rights. These lamps screened hours of dailies for John Hughes and various cast and crew members on his later films.
