Notes:
I'm sharing this one cause although we only ran it as a backup to the 6 reels 35mm 1.85:1 version, the image sizing within the DCP container was very strange. Window-boxed on all sides when presented in a normal Flat 1.85 configuration. I never quite determined what exactly they did, It may have been 1.85 but undersized, or possibly 1.78 and undersized. As we needed it to land in our slightly different 35mm flat masking, and the backup was lower priority than our other tasks, I ended up running it mostly as F178 with a custom one off ILS and Screen file to land it on the bottom masking etc. Got it to a point where if we needed to switch to the backup, our top masking motor is all that would have needed to move (cause our sides are manual from the stage).
Have seen some strange DCPs, even scope within a flat container, but this one was a especially bizarre one (for a studio issued DCP).
There is a chance we just had something misconfigured in our Flat channel, but we'd been in festival mode and running other standard flat/185 films without issue. Projector test patterns confirmed it was presenting as window-boxed, as did other flat DCP test patterns.
Also worth noting IMDB mentions SDDS/DolbyDigital on the 35mm print. But our's was a Rodriguez/Studio personal print... it was Dolby Optical only. Perhaps an early non-release print.
