I have worked with toxic, industrial chemicals like cyanide and sulfuric acid. I understand electricity from working on projector power supplies and I have done glass bending as an occasional hobby since high school. Yes, I know the old saying, “Hot glass and cold glass can look exactly the same.” You don’t have to ask me how I know that.

I am sure I understand the basics. I guess the next step would be to visit a sign shop where neon is made.

A google search shows one sign shop in Erie that makes neon but it’s small. Only 4 employees and they do under $500 K in business per year.

Maybe I’ll call them up, someday but it’s probably a long shot that anything will come of it.

I guess it’s one of those things that you’ll never know unless you try. Right?

It doesn't hurt to ask. If the sign shop in Erie can't let you observe and learn there they might have some leads how you can pick up the craft there in that region.
