No, and yes. There was a whole array of collateral produced for online use. But no physical onesheets that I'm aware of. (The big chains may have gotten some.)
Last year there was a "sizzle reel" that was two or three minutes long, produced with cooperation of all the studios, consisting of very short (5-10 seconds) trailers of just about every movie being released over the next year. We did not run that because I knew we wouldn't be playing the lion's share of the movies featured. There was no such reel produced this year, but there was a 30-second trailer made touting the day. We didn't run that either because we were playing an R-rated movie this year.
The industry was made aware of the date for National Cinema Day about 3 weeks ahead of time, with the various assets being made available on the Paper Airplane site about a week before the national announcement was made.
