A bit off topic here, but anyone had any trouble with new OSX Sequoia machines keeping their external display active?
Had a visiting machine with the show today that would blank and resync randomly. I went through all the usual tricks, nothing worked.
We thought we had it sorted by switching to an apple brand usb-c to hdmi dongle. But it still dipped out twice during the show.
We were feeding a Decimator MD-HX that split to SDI to 2 destinations. I set the no signal color to magenta for a period, confirmed it was losing the HDMI input. Tried 2 dongles, 2 hdmi cables, and 1 adapter cable. All same issue. Issue was present with a MD-LX before switching to the MD-HX too.
I'm used to apple gear being the pickiest, but having it be unsolvable was new. Tried 1080p60 and 1080p30 on the laptop. No change.
Unless we get another Sequoia machine and the problem remains, at this point I'm chalking it up to the Solar Storm activity, cause I also had our DSM monitor power itself down 3 times at the top of the show. It has never done that. Luckily had the remote handy and could recover. Was just showing a powerpoint, nothing fancy. Perhaps powerpoint bug in sequoia? Next time i'll ask for their content and drive from our PC if I see the issue again.
I also thought I caught at least one thread mentioning the older apple usb-c to multiport hdmi dongles needed a firmware update to fix it for current OS, but the apple dongle belonged to a co-worker today.
