I wouldn't have made an employee clean that up either, I'd have done it. I've cleaned up pretty much any kind of vile stuff over the years, including a full load of diarrhea in a urinal. Never had to call an ambulance on that kind of situation though.
I had a really good former employee some years ago who had come to the movie on a trip home to visit. She sat in the balcony with her parents. After the movie she came down and said "Somebody threw up in the front row, but I cleaned it up already, but you might want to check it out with the lights on and see if I missed any." I said, "Well thanks a lot, but why didn't you come and get me, I'd have taken care of that?" She said "You were busy, it wasn't all that much, so I just took care of it." She instantly vaulted to "favorite former employee" status in my book.
