Join your local NATO affiliate (regional) association. They have a direct relationship with national NATO and can marshal the resources you need if your state has legislative issues. Our regional organization (Rocky Mountain NATO) has been a huge help in the past two or three years.
You should also join national NATO. If it wasn't for NATO, the industry would have never gotten the SVOG program which saved many of us from ruin during and after the pandemic. They also shepherded the industry through the digital transition and fought for the VPF program, without which many theaters would not exist today.
Some people on here love to hate on NATO, but they have more than proven their worth over the past decade or so.
We are a member of the ICA too, but they have not proven their mettle the way NATO and the regionals have.
