So, you should probably try to get a 320 or 500GB disc for the first clone. Don't try another 250GB (unless it's the exact same model), because it may have just a few blocks less than the original drive. In that case, a clone dock or software may refuse to clone, even if those last blocks are not used on the source, but, you can never be sure.
