Not much one has to do here except run it a couple hours every two weeks.
NEC Cinema equipment extended Off – Supplement guidance sheet
Question: If the cinema equipment needs to shut down for an extended period, is there any concern with the IMS/Option card/PJ internal battery going bad, or discharging?
To help clarify, there should be no concerns, if the following is noted and confirmed.
For NC1200C, NC2000C, NC3200S, NC3240S, NC900C, NC1100L:
• If there is an Enigma card (PN# NC-80LB01) in these units, please make sure it is fully charged (48 hrs. of full projector power On should be sufficient, light may remain Off during charging).
o The Enigma charge normally remains for about 6 months, before recharge is necessary.
o The battery requires 48 hours of continuous power for a full charge.
• The ICP board contains RTC battery, which is good for 6 years and Cert battery for 10 years, both from manufacture date of part.
• The CPU board has a super capacitor for RTC, which holds a charge for about 2 weeks.
o Once the CPU super capacitor discharges completely; on next boot-up it will resync with ICP RTC.
For NC2041L and NC3541L:
• The FMT board has a super capacitor for RTC, which holds a charge for about 2 weeks.
o Once the FMT super capacitor discharges completely; on next boot-up it will resync with IMS RTC.
• The FMT board also contains Cert. battery, which is good for 10 years from manufacture date
For NC1201L, NC1000C, NC1700L, NP-02HD, NC2402ML, NC2002ML and NC1802ML:
• The FMT board RTC relies on IMS/IMB RTC, it will resync with IMS/IMB RTC during next boot-up.
• The FMT board also contains Cert. battery, which is good for 10 years from manufacture date
For NEC IMS (NP-90MS02):
• IMS has a battery which when properly charged, will have the charge remain for about 6 months before recharge is necessary.
o To charge the IMS battery, you must place the IMS into a projector and then fully power On the projector, light may remain Off during charging.
o The IMS battery requires 60 hours of continuous power for a full charge.
For Service part / Option card:
• TI Interface card (Gore PWB), Enigma card and NC-80LB01 (Option card) have Certification battery, which requires charge to maintain device certificate.
o These card's charge normally remains for about 6 months, before recharge is necessary.
o To charge the battery, you must place the cards into a projector and then fully power On the projector.
o The battery requires 48 hours of continuous power for a full charge.
