The primary failure of the CP750 (outright) is the power supply. Every theatre should have an external supply on hand as it is nearly an instant fix as it just plugs in via an XLR 4-pin (female) cable.
The OEM for the external supply no longer makes it (probably don't want to make the plastic case because internally, it is the same supply...just in a housing). We've found that Mean Well makes one with sufficient specs and has made it through our first rounds of tests.
It is the GP50A14E-R1B. Or, in Digikey speak, 1866-1833-ND. One does have to cut of the nasty DIN connector for a more civilized 4 pin XLR female. (NC4F from Neutrix). If you want to keep the ferrite block, one has to be careful on how they prepare things...it's tight.
