  • Creating a pause signal on Dolby IMS3000

    Hello friends how are you?
I'm trying to get my Dolby IMS3000 server to pause play list when there's a power problem.

This is because at certain times of the year there are power variations and although I have UPS systems for electronics, the projector lamps turn off when the emergency plant enters.

It was easy to create an instruction linked to a cue on an SR1000 server but I couldn't link the trigger signal with the cue so that it detects the pulse of the GPI input and pauses the playlist.
Have any of you used the IMS3000 GPI inputs?

Thank you very much for your help and I take this opportunity to wish you all happy holidays. Have a wonderful time in the company of your families.

The IMS3000 has its origins with Doremi and this is an area where it gets unnecessarily complicated. You need three pieces for you to get the functionality. You need to create the Automation Cue for the server pause itself. Then, in Triggers, you need to create the trigger that will respond to the GPI you are going to use. Then, the crucial and tricky part, you need to have a file like firealarm_cues.xml and/or default_cues.xml file that link the triigger cues to specific Automation cues.

If you go into your doremi/etc directory of your server (via an FTP program) you'll see an example default_cues.xml file to let you see the syntax.

default_cues.xml are cues that are only active when a show is running. firealarm_cues.xml are AWLAYS active, including during intermission. The function identically in terms of mapping trigger cues to automation cues.

There is a means to build up a playlist with just your automation and trigger cues...save it and then retrieve it via ftp, then rename it to one of the two files above rather than have to make/modify an xml file and generate UUIDs for each one.

If you are going to change the default_cues.xml, you'll need root privileges to overwrite the existing file.

There is a way to directly save to fire alarm cues. I think it's making a playlist with whatever trigger cues you wsnt... then in save, pull down to get the choice to save it as that. I don't have a 3000 here but have done this so my remembered process may be wonky.
